For Parents

Orion Telescope Lending Program

Thanks to a generous donation from the Friends of the Larchmont Public Library, Larchmont card holders over 18 years of age with a valid drivers license can now borrow our Orion Starblast modified telescope.  Budding stargazers, with guidance from their adults, can now get an up close and personal view of the moon or constellations using the Evening Sky Map as guidance.  CLICK HERE to be put on the waiting list if you’d like to borrow the telescope.

Parenting Section

Our Children’s Room houses a wonderful collection of parenting books covering a wide range of topics including sleep, eating, behavioral issues, and learning differences.   Patrons who need help tackling tough topics with children may want to explore our assortment of picture books on subjects like potty training, bullying, and death and dying.

Museum Pass Program

Thanks to funding from the Friends of the Larchmont Public Library, cardholders in good standing have the ability to reserve passes for a number of area museums. Some of the museums which may have particular interest for children are The Discovery Museum and Planetarium in Bridgeport, CT, The American Museum of Natural History in New York City, and Stepping Stones Museum in Norwalk, CT.
