Rhythm and Rhyme with Rebecca Eller – Get a jump start on literacy! We will share developmentally appropriate books, finger plays, songs and rhymes to use from the crib to the car seat. A parent or caregiver must attend. Registration is required by phone, online, or in person and is limited to Larchmont Public Library card holders.


Toddlers: ages 1½ to 3 years

Ages 3 months – 1½ — Delight and stimulate your baby's mind with books and music. A parent or caregiver must attend. Registration not required.


Stories and Tales

Every week in January, Tuesdays at 2:15pm and Thursdays at 10:30am.

Ages 3 and 4 — Join us for an interactive, fun story time to get children excited about reading. A parent or caregiver must attend. Registration not required.


Fantastic 5's

Mondays, January 9, 23 and 30 at 1pm and Thursdays, January 5, 12, 19 and 26 at 1pm

Make the Library part of your Kindergarten half–day routine! Join us for creative movement and hands on activities surrounding the best children's literature. Registration not required.


Stories 'N' More

2nd and 3rd Grade Book Group

Kids in 2nd and 3rd Grade — Join us for reviewing and discussing the book of the month. Books will be available on the Book Group Shelf in the Reference Room on the Main Floor three weeks before the program.

Larchmont Music Academy Presents Kindermusik

Monday, January 9 at 10am (ages 1½–3), at 11am (ages 3 months–1½), and at 3:30pm (ages 4 and up)

Can you clap up high? Sing down low? Tiptoe so quietly? Together, we'll learn new songs, sing old favorites, play rhythm instruments, dance, laugh, and snuggle. Intro to Instruments: Winds

Saturday, January 21 at 3:30pm

Ages 4–11 – Find out what the wind instruments can do, how they do it and what they sound like. Hear a mini–concert by instructors at the Larchmont Music Academy and then touch, feel and experiment with the instruments yourself. Beyond Hakuna Matata: A critical look at The Lion King

Sunday, January 29 at 1pm

Chinese New Year Celebration

Ages 8 and up – Come roar into the Library to celebrate the year of the Dragon. We'll have stories, games, a multimedia presentation and we'll make festive Chinese New Year Ribbon Dragons. Please register in person or by calling 834–2281 beginning Tuesday, January 17 at 9am.


Crazy Superbowl Hat Making Day

Saturday, February 4 at 10:30am

Ages 7 and up – Football fans, come tackle a project at the Library in a craft blitz. We'll kick off Superbowl Sunday weekend by making funky hats using foam and duct tape. Please register in person or by calling 834–2281 beginning Tuesday, January 17 at 9am.


LEGO Club

Talking Drums with Kobla Dente

Wednesday, February 22 at 11am

Ages 4–12 — In a celebration of Black History Month, world class drummer and percussionist Kobla Dente will help the audience explore African culture through songs, dance and movement activities. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Larchmont Public Library and will be held in the Village Center, directly behind the Library. Registration is not required, but seating is on a first come, first serve basis.


Pirate School with David Engel

Thursday, February 23 at 11am

Ages 4 and up — In an act that was featured in New York Magazine's "Best of NY: Kids," bumbling pirate "Billy Bones" will teach Larchmont's boisterous buccaneers zany lessons on how to stand, talk, laugh, eat and sing like pirates. All mates are encouraged to come in costume. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Larchmont Public Library and will be held in the Village Center, directly behind the Library. Registration is not required, but seating is on a first come, first serve basis.


Leap into Leap Day with Paulene Greeman

Wednesday, February 29 at 3:30
