Registration continues for Larchmont's Summer Reading Game. This year, the theme is Make a Splash @ Your Library. Keep track of your books and time spent reading online, and come into the library to pick up your prize for every hour you read. Also, register once a week at the reference desk for our raffle.

Rhythm and Rhyme with Rebecca Eller – Get a jump start on literacy! We will share developmentally appropriate books, finger plays, songs and rhymes to use from the crib to the car seat. A parent or caregiver must attend. Registration is required by phone, email, or in person and is limited to Larchmont Public Library card holders.
Rhythm and Rhyme with Rebecca Eller – Help your child develop a love of language and literacy early–on. This program teaches new songs, rhymes and finger plays, while celebrating old Mother Goose favorites like Itsy Bitsy Spider. A parent or caregiver must attend. Registration is required by phone, email or in person and is limited to Larchmont Library card holders.
Age 3 to 4 – This interactive story time will take your child on an adventure through reading. A parent or caregiver must attend. No sign up. Just come.
Ages 3 and up — We're tickled pink to be honoring a popular color in Children's Literature, from Pinkalicious to Miss Lily's Fabulous Pink Feather Boa. We'll hear our favorite pink stories, enjoy cotton candy, decorate cupcakes and create a pink craft on the front lawn. Dressing in pink is not required, but is highly encouraged. Unfortunately, we cannot have a rain date –– If it rains, the food will not be served. Registration is not required.
Ages 7 to 10 — Imagine waking up the wicked world of fairytales. What would the story of the Three Little Pigs be like... through the eyes of the Big Bad Wolf? We'll celebrate upside–down tales by making up one of our own, creating edible pig's houses, and having a fairy tale snack ––– perhaps apples? (unpoisoned, of course!). Ages 9 to 11 — Travel back in time to the days of the Pharaohs as we celebrate Rick Riordan's first book in the hot new series The Kane Chronicles. Make a hieroglyphic name plate, partake in the Walk Like an Egyptian relay race. play trivia, and eat a snack that ancient Egyptians would love. Ages 6 to 8 — Attention, all you budding Batmans and Spideys. It takes more than wearing spandex to be a superhero. Come to the Library to learn some new superhero skills. We'll hear some superhero tales, make a costume, have a comic book giveaway, and enjoy a snack fit for a caped crusader. Register by calling 834–2281 beginning Thursday, July 15.
