The Larchmont Public Library Board of Trustees Subcommittee met on May 15, 2009 at 10:30 AM. Present were Board Chair Miriam Curnin; Trustees Pamela Dubitsky, Joan Macfarlane, and Carolyn Parlato; and Library Director Diane Courtney. Architect Richard Hein joined the group by phone during the meeting.

The group considered additional carpet samples and decided the following: the main room will be carpeted in Milliken Clockwork 122 Azure. There will be no path. The bulk of the activity room will be carpeted in Milliken Pie 216 Grape.Approximately 25-33% of the Activity Room will be covered in a washable, low-maintenance vinyl yet to be selected. The exact percentage of carpet -to-vinyl will be determined after consultation with the Childrens Librarian. The ramp and landings will be covered in the same blue Roeper tile and coving that was used on the third floor.

The Subcommittee then considered new drawings from architect Richard Hein and responded to a number of his questions; they also generated some questions for him. These will be enumerated in a memo the Director will generate. In a phone conversation with Mr. Hein during this meeting, it was agreed that he will send the drawings to the Construction Manager Calgi, structural engineer Miley, and MEP engineer Tietjen. Once Miley approves the design, Calgi will be asked for final construction estimate.

The group approved Richard Heins revised proposal, which had been discussed at the previous Board meeting and approved in principle at that meeting, and was now signed by Board Chair Miriam Curnin.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:30 PM.

The date of the next special Meeting of the Library Board Subcommittee will be determined based on the availability of Library Interiors.

Respectfully submitted,

Diane Courtney

Library Director
