Don’t kill yourself to return things in the snow

It appears that yet another winter storm is headed our way. Rather than rushing out to return library materials during or immediately after the storm, please try and renew your items online. However, if you are unable to renew online, please call us when we are open and will do our best to help you by adjusting your items’ due dates. It is much easier and more efficient for us to extend due dates before items are returned than to waive fines once the items have been returned late.

Also, be aware that when there is an unexpected closure, we adjust the check-in dates on the computers so that everything returned the day we reopen is counted as having been returned the day before the unexpected closure. In addition, the check-in date change means there is no need to struggle through the blizzard to put something in the book drop.

Finally, we also realize that some patrons might not be able to travel safely even if the Library has reopened. Give us a call and we’ll help you.
