Memoir Monologue Workshop: Creating Your Own Story with Bill Wertheim. – Program Full
Ages 55 and up.
Join this unique opportunity to learn how to write your life’s story. The lessons that Bill Wertheim teaches throughout this workshop involve the active use of memory as a tool for memoir writing, with models that come from classical mythology such as the Hero’s Journey. Through the reading and discussion of such myths as well as other poems and stories, Wertheim leads members to share ideas derived from an understanding of these ageless stories, while learning creative elements to encourage and enhance one’s own story.Bill Wertheim has been teaching people how to write for most of his adult life. A graduate of Columbia University, he has taught writing workshops to many groups throughout Westchester County, including over 150 schools, many senior centers and at numerous conferences.
