Microfilm/microfiche reader/printer availability

This service is temporarily discontinued

We are moving into the Village Center while the main portion of the Library is renovated. Right now, it does not appear there will be room there for the microfilm reader. Consequently, we’ve asked FamilySearch.org to stop sending microfilms here immediately. If we do manage to find space for the machine, we will make an announcement here and on the Library’s Renovation web page. Otherwise microfilms will be available once we reopen in the summer of 2016.

We are now an affiliate of FamilySearch.org’s Research and Library System. That means researchers can get microfilms delivered here.  It does not mean, however, that we are a full-blown Family History Center as described on their website. As a result of the new affiliation, our microfilm reader-printer is used more than ever. To manage this, patrons can now reserve online up to two hours a day on the machine. Just put your last name under the date and time you need.

Be aware that our reader-printer has the ability to scan documents onto a thumb drive. This will save you the 15 cents a page for printouts.
