2017-18 Local Peace Poster Contest Winners are:

Laszlo Somlay from The French-American School

Griffin Anderson from Rye Neck School

Shelsey Blanc from Sts John & Paul

Olivia Moxey from Albert Leonard Middle School

The Lions International Peace Poster Contest is an annual worldwide contest for 11-13 year olds, encouraging them to express their visions of world peace through art. This year is the 30th anniversary of the contest and the Lions centennial competition.

The local competition was co-sponsored by the Larchmont, Mamaroneck and New Rochelle Lions Clubs in cooperation with Saints John & Paul School, The French American School, Rye Neck School and Albert Leonard Middle School.  Winners from each school were chosen by a panel of judges based on originality, artistic merit and portrayal of this year’s contest theme, “The Future of Peace.”

The winning posters advance through the district, multiple district and international levels of competition.   Our local winners competed in the Lions District Poster judging, where the winning entry from the 48 area Lions Clubs was selected from our Japanese Lions Club in Manhattan.

The International winner will be announced at a United Nations event next spring, honoring the Lions on their Centennial Year.
