SAT or ACT? Which is the Right Test for You?

To help college-bound students, we’re offering no less than three opportunities for prospective college students to hone their exam skills by investing a small amount of time taking practice exams and getting answers to their questions about those tests. Each session is free but the end result is that you will have a much greater chance at improved test scores which increases your chance of being accepted by the college or university of your choice.

Saturday morning, January 4, from 9:30am to 1:30pm, Independent Counselors from Applerouth Tutoring Services, will be on-hand to guide students through taking a practice SAT exam.

Saturday morning, January 18, from 9:30am to 1:30pm, to guide students through taking a practice ACT exam.

Students electing to take both practice exams can get help from the counselors to compare the two scores. Students will also receive a detailed score report that highlights personal strength and weaknesses. Both practice exams require students to register online with Applerouth Tutoring Services at www.applerouth.com/signup. For the SAT practice exam, students will need to use code M113545, and for the ACT exam the registration code is M113546. More information about Applerouth is also available on their website.

If you’re undecided about which test to take, Theresa Michna, a local educator who has coached hundreds of students on the SAT and ACT exams, will discuss the exams in detail on Thursday evening, January 16, at 7:00pm. Michna will address your questions and provide advice on which is the best exam for you to take. This session will take place in the Larchmont Village Center located directly behind the Larchmont Public Library.
