  • The Saddest Toilet in the World

This book is a stitch!  The Saddest Toilet in the World by Sam Apple, illustrated by Sam Ricks is a completely unique take on potty training— from the toilet’s point of view.

Danny is just not ready to potty train and the toilet just can’t take the pain of not being loved any more.  So he packs up his plunger and leaves.  Imagine Danny’s chagrin when he wakes up, ready to take on potty training and finds there is no toilet!  The cartoon-like art perfectly captures the emotion of the toilet, as he despondently goes sightseeing around town (this falls under the category of sentences I never thought I’d write in my life!).   Filled with tongue-in-cheek humor, it’s a great alternative to your run of the mill potty books.  Recommended for ages 3-5.  Review written by Rebecca Teglas.
