“Be Still & Know” by Roxanne Catherine Mapp
DISPLAYED IN THE MAIN LIBRARY LOBBY. Approaching her third solo exhibition “Be Still & Know”, Roxanne Catherine Mapp embraces the textures and colors influenced by nature. Incorporating the essence of who she is into all of her work, by using shapes from cultural elements such as the steel pan, ocean, hummingbirds, butterflies and the beautiful flora and fauna of her native island Trinidad & Tobago. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to purchase limited and first production pieces while being inspired by the bright colors and geometric shapes that define her work. Roxanne was born and raised in Trinidad & Tobago, where she attended Holy Name Convent in Port of Spain. She holds a Master’s Degree in Library Science from Pratt Institute in New York City and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the College of New Rochelle in New Rochelle, New York.
Roxanne is an avid traveler and currently resides in Westchester, New York.
