Ms Sánchez will propose discussion topics in Spanish for each session, providing participants with the opportunity to clarify pronunciation and meaning of words and expressions in an informal and relaxed environment. Participants should speak Spanish at an intermediate to advanced level and not be native speakers of Spanish. Ms. Sánchez is a native Spanish-speaker originally from Ecuador and has studied languages in Quito, Boston, Paris and Vienna.

Take-Home Craft of the Week- Artic Fox

Week of January 25th. Ages 3 and up. Use paper plate pieces to make a snow white arctic fox. One kit per child limit. Materials needed at home: scissors & glue *markers optional*.

Take home craft kits will be available for pick-up outside the Children’s room entrance on a first come, first serve basis from 10am-4pm Monday-Friday or until we run out.

This month, we’ll put the spotlight on two different artists and create projects in those artist’s styles. Children’s Librarian Erin will introduce the artists of the month, show examples of the artist’s work, and guide participants through different projects each week. January’s artists of the month are Paul Klee and Romero Britto. Materials needed: colored pencils, #2 pencil, crayons, glue, markers, construction paper, tissue paper, watercolor paint set, tracing paper, paint pad.

The College Landscape: Now & Beyond

Tuesday, February 9th at 8:00 pm. Grades 9 and up. This workshop will look at how the pandemic has affected college admissions. Jeffrey Hirsch from College Starter will look at the role the SAT/ACT will play and what exactly Test Optional means for students.
