Sunday, September 19th at 4:00 pm. Calling all garden lovers! Please join us for a Zoom presentation on the work of world renown master gardener Piet Oudolf by Oudolf scholar Deborah Chud. Piet Oudolf is arguably the preeminent landscape designer in the world today and a leader of the naturalistic landscape movement. Anyone who has visited the HIgh Line in Manhattan has seen his mesmerizing work—known for drifts of grass and perfectly placed perennials. Deborah Chud, a landscape design consultant and educator, has presented her powerpoint widely, including at the botanical gardens of Delaware and Toronto and at the Arnold Arboretum at Harvard.

Wednesday, September 22nd, October 20th, and November 17th at 10:00 am. Otherness (noun) – The state of being different; the state of being perceived or treated as different, foreign or strange. You only need to sign up ONCE for the multiple sessions. In this series we will discuss two historical works of fiction, and one multi-generational family novel. In each, a central character faces rejection rightfully or wrongfully, because of his/her otherness.
September 22: Fever by Mary Beth Keane – A gripping, historic novel about a headstrong Irish immigrant known as Typhoid Mary, who arrives in New York City in the early 1900’s and causes a shocking health crisis. (Put a hold on it) (download Hoopla audiobook)

Two of the characters are policemen and a wife of one has mental problems which affect the families’ well being for decades.
