Literary Bites with Special Guest Lori Rotskoff Live on Zoom

Monday, February 22

1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Monday, February 22nd at 1:00 pm. Notes From a Young Black Chef by Kwame Onwuachi

Join Lori Rotskoff as she leads a discussion of Notes From a Young Black Chef, an inspiring memoir about the intersection of race, fame, and food. Kwame Onwuachi shares the remarkable story of his culinary coming-of-age. As a young chef, he was forced to grapple with just how unwelcoming the world of fine dining can be for people of color. A powerful, heartfelt, and shockingly honest story of chasing your dreams even when they don’t turn out as you expected. Notes from a Young Black Chef is one man’s pursuit of his passions, despite the odds.

Lori Rotskoff is a cultural historian, teacher, and author specializing in memoirs and narrative nonfiction; childhood and youth; women’s and gender issues; and arts and culture. She studied history and literature at Northwestern University and earned a PhD in American Studies at Yale. She lives in Larchmont, with her husband and two college-age sons.
