November with the Friends – How Jay Gould Built Wall Street’s Biggest Fortune with author Greg Steinmetz

Sunday, November 20

4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Sunday, November 20th at 4:00 pm in the Village Center. Please join us for a conversation with local author Greg Steinmetz. American Rascal is a rollicking biography of railroad magnate Jay Gould—the greatest of the 19th-century robber barons—whose brilliance, greed, and bare-knuckled tactics made him richer than Rockefeller and led Wall Street to institute its first financial reforms. Steinmetz is a money manager, former Wall St. Journal bureau chief, and author of The Richest Man Who Ever Lived: The Life and Times of Jacob Fugger. Wine and cheese reception at 3:30 on the library lawn, weather permitting.  Put it on Hold or Download the ebook.  Copies will be available 2 weeks before the meeting on the Book Group Shelf.  Free and open to the public. Sponsored by the Friends of the Larchmont Public Library.

“Lively, succinct, and altogether admirable”— The Wall St. Journal
