Wednesday, November 17

10:00 am - 11:00 am

Wednesday, September 22nd, October 20th, and November 17th at 10:00 am. Note: a newsletter mistakenly indicated this program begins at 4pm. It begins at 10am not 4pm. Otherness (noun) – The state of being different; the state of being perceived or treated as different, foreign or strange.  You only need to sign up ONCE for the multiple sessions.  In this series we will discuss two historical works of fiction, and one multi-generational family novel. In each, a central character faces rejection rightfully or wrongfully, because of his/her otherness.

November 17: Ask Again, Yes by Mary Beth Keane- A contemporary novel about two suburban New York families.  Two of the characters are policemen and a wife of one has mental problems which affect the families’ well being for decades. The wife of one policeman is the problem — mental problems that affect both families. (Put a hold on it) (download ebook/audiobook on Overdrive)

Books will be available on the Book Group Shelf 3 weeks before each meeting
