“THE JOY OF ART” by Linea App and Elaine Drohan at the Larchmont Public Library Oresman Gallery
THE JOY OF ART is a celebration of all the happiness and delight that art brings into our lives. Featuring artists, Linea App and Elaine Drohan, the exhibit spotlights life’s many pleasures, from majestic nature to evocative depictions of the human form.
Linea App, a life long Westchester resident, discovered a talent and love of art at a very young age. After raising her family, she embarked on her art education at the College of New Rochelle. There she studied blending colors with an emphasis on painting sunrises and sunsets. Linea specializes in large landscape paintings, her medium of choice is acrylic paint. Having traveled there extensively with her husband, the American West serves as an inspiration for much of Linea’s work.
A born and raised New Yorker, Elaine Drohan discovered a love for art after retiring from her career in the corporate world. In 2017 she wrote and illustrated her first children’s book, TV GRANDMA. Elaine works in a variety of mediums but her passion is drawing with a focus on realism. Specializing in portraits sketched with graphite pencil, Elaine relishes capturing the expressive personalities of her subjects. She finds artistic inspiration in each human’s magical uniqueness and the inherent beauty of everyday life.
