Wunderbar! German Movies from Kanopy
Kanopy and the Goethe Institut are celebrating German-American Friendship by making the Goethe Collection of 48 German films available for even more freer than usual. For October, you can watch as many of these films as many times as you want, and it won’t count towards your monthly limit of 10 free films. Wunderbar indeed!
Kanopy has a lot more than just German films, of course. It may not have the hottest films just out of the theaters, but it sure does have the classics. For example, type “Janus Films” in Kanopy’s search box and you’ll get some of the most famous works from auteurs like Truffaut, Kurosawa, Fellini, Bergman and… you get the idea. Want something more serious? Kanopy has 40 Frederick Wiseman documentaries.
One of our other downloadable services, Hoopla, also has videos, along with eBooks, Audiobooks and Music. Both Kanopy and Hoopla require that you make an account with them. Go through the link to each service on our eBooks etc. page to do so. That way you will sign up for free library access. Then, when you attempt to watch on your television you can use your library account and it will be free, free, free.
You can find it and all our others services on our eBooks etc. page. If you need help, sign up for one of our Tech Tuesday sessions. If Tuesdays are no good, contact Head of Reference Liam Hegarty at 834-2281 x114 or email@example.com, and we’ll figure out a time to get you started.
